Double Act (Twins 10yrs+)
Double Act (Twins 10yrs+)
Identical twins Ruby and Garnet are inseparable. They do everything together. and go every where together. They love being twins. and since the death of their mother. three years earlier. they have been closer than ever. safe in their little world.
But can being a double act work forever ?When Dad finds a new girlfriend everything in the twins' lives is turned upside down--new home. new school. new everything. And gradually. being twins isn't quite the same anymore.
In Double Act. Jacqueline Wilson brilliantly captures the pain and uncertainty that change can sometimes bring with it. This story of two little girls gradually realising that they have no real control over what is happening is both funny and poignant. but it is as the twins begin to accept that things will never be quite the same that Wilson shines. allowing her characters to grow and develop as individuals without ever losing sight of the bond that holds them together.
This book is quite good and written by my favourite author in the whole world! it is about two twins that live with their dad and they get a new step-mum. the twins set off to be stars even though one doesnt want to. i would reccomend it for 9-11 year olds.......Emmi Age 11
This great book by our favourite author. Jacqueline Wilson. was one that we couldn't put down once we'd started it - we read it in 5 days.
It's all about two identical twin sisters Ruby and Garnet. Ruby is the more boisterous of the two and they live with their dad and gran after their mum died. Their dad takes them away to the country to open a bookshop with his new girlfriend. Rose. They don't settle very well and the story is mostly about what they do once they've moved. Eventually. they find their differences are just as important as how much they are alike. F.Thomas
I really really loved this thrilling childrens story book by the fab author Jacqueline Wilson. If the stars were out of 10 then it would get full marks. This thriller book is about two identical twins who are almost the same. Apart from. Ruby the oldest twin who loves to act. but Garnet her twin hates to act because. of an accident that she had on stage when she was five. when she wet herself on stage. Their mum died when they were seven years old so that's three years ago.Their family including themselves are crazy about books for example: their house is full of their dads books. but when their dad meets a lady called Rose and they hate her. their gran lives with them and she highly disaproves of all his talk about Rose whom she also hates. To their suprise. their gran moves out when their dad buys a book shop. One day Ruby see's an artical in Roses newspaper. advertising auditions for Girls At St'Clairs their fav book. She manages to convince Garnet that it's fine. but her dad won't agree with it so they sneak out in the night and catch a taxi to London. Their dad finds out and comes down and picks them up and takes them home. so Ruby and Garnet write a letter to the school that Girls At St'Claires was shot. and ask for a place at the school.they have to do a test and only Garnet gets in.
